Children and humor: how can you reach your child with a laugh

Neuroatypical children can enjoy a good laugh too.

Playing with our children, approaching them, and laughing with them helps us to strengthen the parent-child relationship and discover aspects that we would never have imagined. Practicing laughter therapy is a good way to communicate, it’s also simple and has many benefits.

When we perform a session of laughter therapy, we experience a strong dose of endorphins that relax the muscles and even help us to leave shyness behind.
Endorphins
Endorphins are substances that our body produces naturally and that provides a well-being sensation. The production of endorphins isn’t continuous, you have to stimulate it; so doing a couple of laugh therapy sessions is a good idea.

Lately, with these busy lifestyles, we forget to share time with the family, to make time to play with them. Sometimes we should disconnect our children from the internet, from those electronic games, and from television; we should encourage them to spend more time with the family, to talk, to play games, to communicate.

Organize a family laugh therapy session

Invite grandparents, uncles, cousins. The more participants, more fun!

-Start making a nice invitation created by yourself.
-Condition any room in the house, clear of any objects, a free area.
-Use comfortable, light clothes, in which you can be able to jump to the ground freely and have the time of your life no worrying about spoiling it.

Laughter therapy session

"Crazy face, crazy laugh."

Play games like inventing a character and change each participant’s personality. Introduce yourself and then start with the game round.

Everyone can be placed in a circle, and the one who starts the game shows to the one on his right the craziest face that comes to mind, and this one next door and so on. One by one will make your face crazier and, believe us, the laughter is assured.

Benefits

At the end of the session of laughter therapy, we will be seized by an enormous sense of peace, affection, and relaxation in our family. Adults are children once again, and the kids show themselves as they are, without any embarrassment. The results are amazing.
The power of laughter therapy can achieve wonders for these children.

Family Gathers: 4 Tips For Preparing Your Children

Let him know who's visiting, and organize your family for the gathering. Find a distraction for your kid that day.

You receive a call from your brother telling you he’s coming along with his family on a visit. They are 8 in total (including your brother): his four sons, mother, father, and wife. There’s nothing wrong about your loved ones visiting, and you as a parent, are responsible of telling your kid about who is visiting. The only concern you have now is how he/she will react to that amount of people in your house. There’s a chance that he/she only has a dim memory of how your brother looks like, and little details of other family members; like the way his/her grandma laughed when enjoying a joke. Autism kids can have a hard time when being surrounded by people they don’t recognize or hardly interacted with before.

Preparing your kid for the visit must be a priority, if you’re not sure of which guidelines to follow; here are some tips to prepare your loved one for the upcoming visitors:

  1. Talk to your child: Explain the situation to your kid, who are them and why they visit. Give all the details; remember they need to fully understand the situation so they can afford it. Also talk with your family about the visit and the actions that will be taken.
  2. Explain it: If you haven’t explained your kid’s special condition to your family, let them know about it with all details. And tell them to explain it to their children as well, so there are no confusions when they meet your kid.
  3. Plan the meeting: Organize the reunion with your family and make plans so things go like they should. Give your child space to play with the other kids so he feels comfortable around them.
  4. Family gathers: The moment has come, the family is here! Have a good time sharing while keeping an eye on your kid. If your child’s acting out of the ordinary, talk to him/her and let him/her know what’s wrong. Make sure your child doesn’t feel uncomfortable and try your best to help him/her enjoy the reunion.

There’s nothing wrong in having a family gathering, and your kid can have a great time without the need of you being behind all the time. Autism children are excellent at understanding if you talk to them, communicate anything that might disturb their comfort and they’ll be ready to face it. Do not forget, there are people out there willing to help you out whenever you need, like the people of Autism Soccer. They really care for your kid, putting your trust in them will be worth the try, contact them.
Help your children interact with your family: Reming him/her of that aunt who used to come or grandma and her stews. Your kid will remember those whom he/she spent time with.

What Makes you a Great Parent

Regardless of what you might feel, the truth is that you are an amazing parent.

Parenting is not an easy job. After all, you are raising another human being to turn into a grown-up and a highly adapted person, while also being trustworthy and their closest friend. Sometimes, it looks like an impossible feat. After all, there are many people out there who are basically super parents that make it look impossibly easy, those who manage to raise kids, be confident, present and basically all that seems unachievable without extra hours in the day. And if by any chance you are feeling a bit horrified by the idea of being a bad parent, this is the article for you.

First things first: You are more than average, you are a great parent for your child. After all, you are taking the time to find out more about them every day. And being present is also incredibly powerful for them. While sometimes it can be a bit overwhelming, parenting not only changes your routines, it also changes who you are as a person. Your priorities shift, and sometimes your brain decides how to face those challenges with your child's’ best interest in mind without it being a conscious decision. That’s great parenting!

But sometimes, you need to scold them and be the figure of power in your children's lives. Tears, chaos, and tantrums are part of this process. Your child might feel offended, personally affronted by your negative to comply to their bidding, but you are the adult and you know better. This doesn't have to be a reason to feel bad, after all, you know that’s right in the end. Don’t be so harsh on yourself! Remember that a stone in your path does not define you, and if your child feels like every other child, in their adulthood they’ll understand why you did what you did. If you think by any chance that you are being a bad parent at any moment, remember that you are helping your child go through life at their own pace. And regardless of the emotions they might feel at the spur of the moment, you are an integral part of their world and they love you deeply.

Forget those notions of perfection, as you are as unique as your child. Facing the world in your terms is the best way to ensure a healthy relationship between you and your child. Just make sure to take the time to participate and be involved in their lives, especially when it comes to having fun. One of those alternatives are sports, activities they will enjoy and feel connected to. This will fuel their social skills and will increase their interest in things that will make them understand why you take the actions you take, making both of you grow integrally.

And if you are a parent of a special child, then Autism Soccer is the right place for you. In there, your child can experience wonderful memories, while you can be a part of those memories in a great and interactive setting. Remember to be a part of their lives, and boosting their interest in the rest of the world with the help of the right people.

Children see their parents as their heroes. Think about that every day.

How to Bond with your children every day

Children that are involved in chores and home related tasks are more bonded with their parents.

To create a healthy parent-child relationship, there are certain things you can do according to doctors and other parents. They range from games to talks, but most of them focus on strengthening the existing bond with them, making it magical and deep for both parts. But when it comes to practice, sometimes those ideal situations aren't exactly applicable to our relationship with children. In those cases, parents have to try a little extra to bond more effectively with their children throughout their early life, helping them become stable human beings. That’s why it’s time for you to learn simple and foolproof methods to form a bond with your small ones in simple forms.

Here are some simple ways to potentiate and create a bond with your child:

  • Listen to your child: Parents often forget that little ones are as opinionated as them, and are more likely to express their emotions. Take the time to listen to what they have to say.

  • Focus on them: Small children are highly perceptive, and if you are not fully into the moment with them, they’ll feel it. Concentrate on your child, forget everything else and savor the small pearls of joy that they bring to you.

  • Be present: Whether it’s a small play or a simple presentation, even a sports event, being there is important for them, as it shows that you care. They understand that you have a busy life, and taking the time to be present in those moments is incredibly important and valuable for them.

  • Avoid sharing screen time: It’s not what you think! Simply accept that there’s screen time in the household, but it doesn't have to be your time together. Sitting side by side while on phones, computers or tablet’s is not considered quality time!

  • Create unique games: Working with your children to create a game that’s unique for both of you is special. Think of it like a valuable secret or a treasure. That’s how children will see it, and it will make both of you create an incredible memory.

What are you doing to create lasting bonds with your children? For parents nowadays, the precious time they spend with their children is misused, and they feel the chances of bonding, slipping away every day. But you don’t have to be part of that population. Create a wonderful memory with your children, and help them reach their goals. A great part of those bonds is playing sports together, or watching them play with their peers. One of those alternatives is Autism Soccer, as it helps children with special needs to interact with one another, while creating bonds with parents at the same time. Contact them now to see it and make your child experience the marvels of sports!

7 Ways to Show Love to Your Children

Parents should know that the care they give to their children prepares them for the future.
Parents and caretakers are responsible for their children’s well-being. This goes beyond the fact that parents are well aware of their children’s feeding and clothing. It’s important to make sure that your children feel loved, more than just the simple care you give them. In this way, you will be showing your children how important they are to you, which helps them to be more confident in their lives and, also, in their future. But what can you do to make sure that you are showing them your love? There are acts that will help you do this; here they are:

  1. Spend time with your children: Forget about your phone, tablet or TV for a few minutes and spend quality time with your kids. Don’t get distracted by electronic devices and let them know that they are more important than a tweet or a Facebook post.

  1. Do crafts with them: Painting, drawing and doing some sort of craft together is incredibly great for both of you. This will help you have a better relationship.

  1. Prepare their favorite meals: Maybe your child loves to eat some Mac & Cheese, or just a delicious peanut butter and jelly sandwich. Take time to prepare those meals that they love and let them know you made them for them.

  1. Leave messages around your home: Leaving notes or messages in their school supplies or hidden around the house, in places where they might find them, it will make them feel like they found a treasure from you. It’s a good game for both of you.

  1. Create a language with them: Creating special languages always have good results in relationships. You can create different motivational signals like “I love you” or “you are amazing”. This will make them feel loved and motivated to do their own things.

  1. Try to be at their level: Adults usually don’t notice when children are intimidated by their attitude. For that reason, you must try to be at their level by getting on your knees and talking to them calmly.

  1. Listen to what they have to say: Always listen to their opinions. It’s important to listen to them, because you don’t know what they’re going through. Also, treat them with respect and ask them to explain you why they think that way. Have a good and educational conversation.

The communication between you and your children is essential for their development. And also, it’s good to build an incredible relationship between both of you. That’s why one of the things that you can do to show love is to dedicate some time to learn something together, like a sport. In this way, children can take the chance to be physically active while interacting with others and strengthening their relationship with you. Contact Autism Soccer to see the different alternatives they have to practice sports with children with special needs by introducing them to the wonderful world of physical activity!
Make your children feel loved at any time of the day.
