What’s the Best Time of the Day to Practice Sports?

There are lots of opinions about when is the best time of the day to do exercise. 
Working out is important for people, especially for kids when they’re growing up. It helps in the toning of muscles, the strengthening of bones, and the overall health of the heart and lungs, as well as lowering stress levels, blood pressure, diabetes, and cholesterol.

We all know that sports have many benefits for our body and health. But, do you know about the importance of the best time to work out? Well, let me tell you that it depends on you. PhD. Russell Pate, professor of exercise science at Arnold School of Public Health at the University of South Carolina, Columbia, said that the best time of the day is when you will do it most consistently because the benefits of physical activity are tightly linked to the amount you do on a consistent basis.

Nevertheless, many people use mornings and nights to work out or practice any sport, because they’re usually working or studying in the afternoons. That’s why I’m going to give you some advice on morning and night workouts.

Morning workout
These are some of the benefits to practicing sports in the morning:

  • More willpower: With morning routines you curb the lazy factor.
  • Better sleep: When you do physical activity in the morning, your body burns energy and fat, which is good for your health.
  • Speed up your metabolism: Working out in the morning puts your body at a higher speed, making you burn calories throughout the day without doing extra exercise.  

Night workout
If you are a busy person and have to do a lot of things during the day, your best option is to exercise at night.

  • Less cortisol: Cortisol levels are higher in the morning, and when you practice sports in the evening, your body is less likely to produce this hormone. Chances are you will store less back fat.
  • Release stress: Did you have a complicated day? Practice a sport makes you feel relaxed, and will also release the accumulated tension.
  • Better muscular performance: If you give your muscles a good day-long warm-up, you’ll have fewer chances of suffering an injury related to exercise.
