Excluded From School: An Autistic Teenager Story

The main reason why young teens with autism struggle is because there are no structured places for them to feel comfortable.

Autism awareness communities have become widely known and supported from people through the world, and most of the children and teens with this disorder have started to get the proper reach from people in many countries. The path towards understanding kids is getting the attention from people from all walks of life. But sadly, there are still many cases of children with autism that are not getting all the support they should.

There’s a case in Ontario that’s not getting the proper attention and is concerning most of the communities of the autism awareness. Abdullah Yar Khan is a teenager with severe autism who’s struggling to live and barely expresses himself.

The only person who takes care of him is his mother, Shabana Shahab, and she’s having a hard time seeing his son having such hardships in life. She knows that without her, her son wouldn’t be able to take care of himself as he is totally depends on her mother.

Abdullah got excluded from school after hitting an educational assistant, the reason of this is because of the aggressiveness of the disorder in teenagers. The stress of not being able to express his needs or act correctly frustrates him to the point of becoming aggressive towards others. Sadly, there’s not much to be done as there are no environments for him to get help.

The mother’s concern is that she feels that she’s losing the chances to get the proper support from specialists and time goes on non-stop. Regression can complicate things even further for people with this disorder, so if her mother doesn’t manage to find help, her son will start to show even worse symptoms.

It’s saddening to see that there’s still much to be done regarding autism awareness in the world, but that means the work needs to keep on and increase in efforts. Autism Soccer is one of those organizations who never stops in their job as a motivational support for children with autism, and there’s no better environment for them than a functional place for them to grow.
A proper environment for their development, for them to be able to express their emotions. They need all the support they can get.
